It’s July, which means the Vermont Cheesemakers Festival is just days away. This year marks the fifth anniversary of the annual cheese love-fest, which takes place on Sunday, July 21, 2013, at the Coach Barn at Shelburne Farms outside Burlington, Vermont.
Cheese lovers can sample and purchase cheeses from more than 40 cheesemakers, including the famed Cellars at Jasper Hill, Grafton Village Cheese Co., Maplebrook Farm and Vermont Butter & Creamery, and many small-production cheeses that are hard if not impossible to find outside the Green Mountain state. The usual complement of locally-produced artisan food products, craft beer, wine and spirits will also be available. Tickets are $50 and include “Meet the Cheesemaker” seminars and cooking demos. Purchase your tickets at vtcheesefest.com, and hurry as the event always sells out.
(Read our post from the very first festival here — hard to believe the littlest curdkid is now as old as my eldest was, when we road-tripped to the fest in ’09.)
